In a dark, apocalyptic world where every falling star brings Earth one step closer to total eclipse, a lone inventor desperately works on a machine that can send the stars back into space. When the last star crashes to Earth, the inventor manages to fit it into his finished machine just in time. All seems well until the machine suddenly explodes. The star goes out, and all hope seems lost.
